The third generator of the Norochcholai coal power plant has reportedly broken down.
The generator has been completely shut down due to a technical snag in the steam pipeline system.
The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) stated that repairs are currently being carried out in order to rectify the problem and that this is unlikely to affect the power supply.
