Time to go…

Outgoing Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews checks the time as his successors Dinesh Chandimal and Upul Tharanga look on before yesterday’s media briefing to announce Mathews’ resignation from captaincy.

Mathews, who broke Aravinda de Silva’s record by becoming Sri Lanka’s youngest Test captain at the age of 25, served a four-year term. He stepped down after becoming the first Sri Lankan captain to lose a series to Zimbabwe.
