MSU signs MoU with Sri Lankan university
Manonmaniam Sundaranar University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Eastern University, Sri Lanka recently to work closely in research programmes and exchange scholars and students.
Vice-Chancellor, MSU, K. Baskar and his counterpart Jeyasingam signed the MoU even as the former had gone there recently to participate in the convocation ceremony of Eastern University, Batticaloa. The MoU enables the two universities to exchange scholars and the students and to publish research articles.
While a professor from the MSU will visit the Eastern University to participate in a workshop relating to folklore, 20 students and two faculty members from Swami Vibulanandar Aesthetic Studies of Eastern University will participate in the conference on World Tamil Literature Demography to be organized in February next year.
The Memorandum of Understanding enables Professor of Tamil, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University G. Stephen to become ‘subject expert’ for Board of Studies in formulating the syllabus for the two new undergraduate courses – Visual Anthropology and Sri Lankan Tamil Dances – to be introduced by Swami Vibulanandar Department of Aesthetic Studies.
Moreover, Professor and Head, Department of Animal Science A. Palavesam will be the ‘Research Advisor’ and the subject expert in reframing the syllabus of Department Animal Science, Eastern University, Sri Lanka.
