AKD claims Ranil is a thief

Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) Leader, Anura Kumara Dissanayaka, on Sunday (22) lashed out at Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe saying that he has no intention of bringing thieves to book as he is also a ‘thief.’

Addressing a public rally in Hambantota, Dissanayaka hit out that the PM is the one who should take full responsibility for the Treasury Bond scam.

“Now, it has been revealed that Wickremesinghe is the one who spearheaded the Treasury Bond scam. When he, himself is a thief like that, how can we expect him to take steps to punish the thieves and the culprits who misuse State money and property?” the JVP Leader questioned.

“When there is clear evidence about corruption carried out by the Rajapaksa family, the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) follows a lenient policy on them,” Dissanayaka said.

“Rajapaksa’s sons utter ‘fairy tales’ like Daisy Achchi and the gunny of gems, the FCID takes that statement without any further questions. The FCID will never treat a common person in this manner,” he added.
