Training module on PM CCSMEE commences in Welisara
A training module on Preventive Medicine and Casualty Care Subject Matter Expert Exchange got off the ground at the naval base SLNS Gemunu in Welisara yesterday (11 September 2017). The US Marine Corps Forces Pacific (MARFORPAC) is conducting the training engagement for the personnel of the Sri Lanka Navy.
The training programme consists of two modules; Train the Trainer and Tactical Combat Casualty Care Training, in which 70 naval personnel belonging to the Marine Battalion, Special Boat Squadron, Rapid Action Boat Squadron and Medical Branch are taking part. Apart from that a team of Indian Armed Forces Medical Services (IAFMS) is also attending this collaborative effort at the invitation of the Sri Lanka Navy.
The objective of the training engagement is to provide the participants comprehensive knowledge on preventive medicine and casualty care subjects. Further, it helps better enhance causality care and patient care during mass casualty, humanitarian assistance, disaster response and other emergencies. The collaborative expert exchange effort will be terminated on 22nd September 2017.
