LNP – Monkey, responsible for islandwide black out, found dead

The monkey who is suspected to have caused the islandwide blackout yesterday has been found dead. Pictures which have emerged from the Panadura Power Station shows the carcass of a monkey found near the transmission line.

Officials on ground believe it is the same monkey who had touched the transmission line, leading to the islandwide power outage on Sunday.

The government has called for an urgent report over yesterday’s power failure with a committee appointed to probe the incident. The Daily Mirror today reported that the national power grid is so outdated that it is most unfortunate that even a monkey can cause a power failure throughout the country.
