LNP – We had prior discussion on Yoshitha’s arrest- Deputy Defence Minister

Referring to the arrest of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s son Yoshitha Rajapaksa, Deputy Minister of Defence Aruna Jayasekara said it was discussed last night but details were not put out in the public domain.

He said such arrests are done only after proper inquiries and investigation only. 

“I just got the message about Yoshitha Rajapaksa’s arrest . We discussed it last night. We did not divulge it. Now the finger will be pointed at us that we touch small culprits, leaving big ones at large. We have to make arrests after proper ,thorough investigations only. We cannot resort to Mervin Silva type behaviour in the past, ” he said.
