Sri Lanka Army Chief rejects allegations of killing LTTE leader`s son

Commander of Sri Lanka Army, Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya strongly rejecting the allegation that the Army killed the Tamil Tiger terrorist leader V. Prabhakaran`s son accused the overseas remnants of the LTTE and their supporters of conspiring against the country.
Addressing a gathering of Army personnel at the Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) on Monday, the Army Chief said the main objective of these allegations is to tarnish the image of the president and the country.
He pointed out that these allegations are made every time the United Nations Human Rights Council session is convened.
`Anti Sri Lanka elements, backed by LTTE rump and the Diaspora are in the habit of tarnishing the country`s image, preferably, ahead of UNHRC sessions every year while making baseless allegations against the Army. These elements will continue to do so in the future, too as they have been doing in the past few years with ulterior motives,` the Commander said.
He said it appears that they have an agenda to change the regime, particularly to remove the President and the Secretary Defense who have been the strength behind the security forces.
Speaking of the images, shown by Channel-4 TV of Britain, allegedly of the LTTE leader`s son, the Army Commander said his personal opinion is that those elements are hell-bent on pushing the country towards anarchy while simultaneously trying to jeopardize the onward march to prosperity.
`We are exceptionally fortunate to have a Head of State who would firmly stand by the Security Forces at all times and defend the nation,` the Commander told the troops.
During the address the Army Chief told the troops that every soldier is expected to maintain the highest degree of discipline and proper conduct during their nation-building assignments and reconciliatory moves.
The Sri Lankan Army is accused of violations of human rights and international humanitarian laws during the final phase of the war that ended in May 2009 with the defeat of the terrorist group.

Even the army killed the son of terrorist Brabha, I think not wrong, how many people died at Pettah Bus station, How many Monks died at Aranthalawa, how many small kids cut into pieces when they ride the villages, how many mother and father s lost for children when bomb went off at central bank building, many incident, those are not life?, bloody Indians you don t see them??????
